The etiquette of screenshot notifications between Snapchat and Instagram are wildly different, after all they are wildly different apps.
Snapchat is the one that will rat you out no matter how or where you do your sneaky screenshotting.
Instagram on the other hand are scarce with their notifications on who is creeping on you, so beware.
You may or may not have received a notification from Instagram saying that one of your wonderful followers took a sneaky screenshot of a photo you sent to them across the app.
This is where the stalker in all of us will begin to fall in love with Instagram as we are not publicly shamed for taking a sneaky screenshot of someone’s story.
Instagram will only notify you that someone has taken a screenshot when they screenshot a picture or video that you sent them via the Instagram direct message feature.
If you post a picture to your story and someone screenshots you will never know.
Equally if you are stalking your ex’s Instagram and you want the whole squad’s opinion on whether their new squeeze is good looking, you will not be outed for the creeper you are.
So screenshotting from Instagram Direct is a risky business and screenshotting from Instagram Stories or Instagram in general is as well, but you will not have to live in fear of someone being notified about it.
