Aaron Ramsey believes Mesut Ozil’s stunning display against Huddersfield owed much to the fact he missed Sunday’s win over Burnley through illness.
The Germany international returned to the Arsenal attack on Wednesday evening and put in a sparkling performance which included two assists and a goal in a devastating four-minute spell midway though the second half.
‘He was out of the Burnley game, so his batteries were recharged. He put in a fantastic performance tonight.’Ramsey continued his own fine form by registering two more assists as Arsenal scored five goals at home in the Premier League for the first time February 2015.The victory over David Wagner’s promoted side represented Arsenal’s third straight win and cemented their place in the top four ahead of Manchester United’s visit to Emirates Stadium on Saturday.‘Full credit to Huddersfield because they made it difficult for us to break them down,’ Ramsey added. ‘But it was nice to go into half-time with the 1-0 lead.‘We upped the tempo in the second half, created many opportunities and we were clinical.‘We wanted to take advantage of being at home and we did that again.‘It was another three points and hopefully we can go into the game at the weekend full of confidence, and hopefully it will be a very good week for us.’
