Arsenal have been handed a major fitness boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League showdown with Manchester United after Alexis Sanchez participated in Friday’s training session.
The Chile international scored for the third game running during Wedneday’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield but was substituted in the 73rd minute, just four minutes after converting Mesut Ozil’s pinpoint cross.
Arsene Wenger revealed after the game that Sanchez had been withdrawn as a precaution after he had complained of suffering from a tight hamstring.
There was no sign of top scorer Alexandre Lacazette, however, who suffered a groin injury in the midweek win and was taken off at half time.
The France international has now scored seven Premier League goals this season and Wenger faces a difficult decision in terms of how best to go about the club’s record signing.

Olivier Giroud, who is yet to start in the league this season, enhanced his chances with a brace against David Wagner’s men, but Wenger could yet turn to Danny Welbeck.
The former Manchester United man has scored three times against his old club since moving to north London in 2014 and has recently returned from a month out with injury.
