Jos Buttler will be fit to play for England in their upcoming World Cup clash with West Indies, head coach Trevor Bayliss has said.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Buttler felt pain in his hip during Englands victory over Bangladesh on Saturday and was a doubt to face West Indies.

But the 28-year-old has responded well to treatment and is expected to play a full part in Fridays World Cup meeting with Jason Holders side.

Hes fine. Hell be taking part in todays practice fully, Bayliss said ahead of Englands fourth World Cup fixture.

It was a little bit precautionary the other day. He could have kept but it wasnt sure whether he would have been able to sprint after a high catch. But hell be fine.

Asked whether Buttler would be fit to keep wicket for England, Bayliss said: To be honest I havent really thought about it.

Well make that decision over the next day or two and see how he performs in practice. But Im fully expecting him to play a full part.

Fridays match will be the first time Barbados-born England fast bowler Jofra Archer faces West Indies.

And Bayliss added: Hes looking forward to it. He obviously knows a few guys in their team.
