The Nazca Lines have fascinated archaeologists and hunters alike ever since they were brought to the wider public attention in the 1940s. Barely discernable from the ground, a birds-eye-view of Nazca Desert reveals a number of straight lines and complex designs cutting across the barren desert some 250 miles south of Lima. For years, conspiracy theorists maintained the geoglyphs served as a guide for visitors to Earth.
