Surviving victims of twisted serial killer Levi Bellfield have spoken out about the terrifying ordeals he put them through.
Bellfield is serving life for murdering Milly Dowler, 13, Marsha McDonnell, 19, Amelie Delagrange, 22, and is now accused of killing Lin and Megan Russell after an alleged confession to a cell-mate.
Now three of his surviving victims who were left for dead by the killer have revealed how the murderer attacked.
One victim, Jo Collings, was Bellfield’s girlfriend when the Russells were murdered in 1996.
She says violence and rape were part of her daily life.
‘Once, when I didn’t reply quick enough, he had a rubber mallet and, as I walked away, he hit me with it,’ she said.
‘The rapes, it was just target practice for him for what he went out and did to other people.
‘The beatings, he would strangle you and get you to the point where you would actually black out.’
Chillingly Jo – who had two children with Bellfield – found a bin liner in her garage which contained an old jacket, balaclava, kitchen knife and a magazine which had the faces of blonde women scratched out.
She added: ‘He went mad, absolutely mad, I got such a good hiding because how dare I touch any of his stuff or question him?’
She finally finished with him in 1997 after he attacked her when she was pregnant, he then stalked her for years before she helped police catch him.
Her evidence finally helped to put him in jail.
The revelations in Channel 5 documentary Levi Bellfield Left Me for Dead paint a picture of a ruthless raping bully.
Another of Bellfield’s victims – former associate Peter Rodriguez – said the killer ambushed him in 2004 when he refused to stash drugs for him at his mother’s home.
He said: ‘I can feel his hand on my shoulder, pulled me back and then I see him with a mallet. He’s tried to kneecap me to get me on the floor and I’ve stumbled, whacked him in the head about two, three times. I passed out.’
The cab driver, now 50, was guarded by cops in hospital after Bellfield got in by posing as a relative.
In 2003 Lab technician Sarah Spurrell, then 23, was beaten with a hammer in Hastings, East Sussex.
She said: ‘It was ever so quick. No footsteps, nothing. It was the third blow on the head that split the skin on my head. I saw the blood go on the car in front of me.
‘He was wearing a balaclava so I couldn’t see his face. The eyes were evil, sheer evil.’
Bellfield, who now goes by the name Yusuf Rahim, is serving a whole-life sentence after being found guilty at the Old Bailey of abducting and killing schoolgirl Milly whilst already serving time for murdering Marsha McDonnell and Amelie Delagrange. He was jailed in 2011.
Levi Bellfield Left Me For Dead will be shown on Channel 5 on Wednesday at 10pm.
