Toys ‘R’ Us looks to be set to close 26 of its stores across the UK next year, putting 800 jobs at risk.

The kids’ toy retailer announced this week that it had planned the closure of a quarter of its stores across the country in response to ‘evolving needs of customers in today’s UK retail market.’
There will be no detrimental effect to Christmas shopping for your children as all of the stores in the UK will remain open throughout Christmas this year.
In the new year customers are expected to see at least 24 of the 84 Toys ‘R’ Us stores shut their doors.
In total there are 105 Toys ‘R’ Us branches in the UK with 84 trading as their traditional vast warehouse style stores and the remainder are newer smaller shops which the company says have been trading well.
In September this year Toys ‘R’ Us filed for bankruptcy protection in the US, with waning sales spreading in their UK market.
The company currently employs 3,200 people across the UK. With redundancies necessary in the closure of their larger stores, they have said they would seek to redeploy team members where possible.
There is a planned closure of 26 stores across the UK including their stores in Aberdeen, Belfast, Cardiff, Manchester and Watford.
The 26 Toys 'R' Us stores that will be closing in 2018.
